I think traveling is essential to my well being. I have put it off far too long. Since I only have one life to live, and I don’t want to only wish I had visited other places when I am old, I need to be proactive and make it happen.
That is why a long term goal for me is to be a Foreign Service Officer, but currently I am interested in joining the Peace Corps. I now work in the semiconductor business, and while it is a good job, it does not make me happy. In the Peace Corps, I really wouldn’t earn an income but they would meet my needs with a stipend. That is really all I require I feel. Yes, I worry about not putting money into a 401k during that time, but I also realize I will never be wealthy nor do I need to be, but I do want and need to be happy. Money isn’t always the answer. Happiness and living for today are more important.
