How I did it: i found somenew, someone who i wanted to get to know, we exchanged addresses and eventually exchanged letters. Having someone who you would like to know more about makes the whole letter writing so much easier.

Lessons & tips: do things worth writing about and write to someone worth writing to.

    I remembered that in the old days I would write many of my letters on a manual typewriter. I have one up on the shelf and I’m going to bring it down. When I write on the computer where I can re-write and edit endlessly, I overwork it. I turn just writing a note to a friend into creating a flawless essay. And that’s not what it’s supposed to be about.

    I’ve started writing and sending cards to my friends, and they are happy to receive something other than junkmail and bills in their mailbox! I think I’m really on to something.

    Even better, they occasionally send something back!

    I’m having fun hunting up cards for my friends, and my new favorite card line is Leanin Tree. They have funny ones, inspirational ones, and more. The artwork is incredible!

    I’m happy I decided to do this.
