Start my own bakery

I would LOVE to start my own bakery. I don’t want to take over Duncan Donuts or anything (although there’s nothing quite like a DD jelly donut). I could start small, like from my home. There are plenty of Internet sites that sell the cake and cupcake boxes, pastry liners, etc. I could start by baking/catering to small events (baby showers, birthdays, etc.)and go from there.

I think it would be an amazing experience to apprentice at a bakery like Charm City Cakes (on that level, not necessarily at that particular bakery).

We have recently opened a nice Novelty Bakery in Gaithersburg, MD. We have been opened for about 1 year and are having fun with it. The bakery website is: Novelty Birthday Cakes by Hot Breads

I figure if I am not successful with finding a job or not happy with my current one, my roommate and I will quit our day jobs and start our own bakery. We would be killer at it. I would make the cookies, cinnamon rolls, and soft pretzels. She would make the pies and cakes. We would be happy baking all day and eventually gain 100 pounds. As my boyfriend says, we are already at grandma level of baking.
