I’ve been good with this so far and am getting more flexible. Also feeling much less stress in my shoulders and back. Feeling the benefits of daily stretching, I’m sticking with it for now.

How to stretch daily"I set a daily time to stretch with a short routine and stuck to it."
How I did it: I decided what I wanted to gain flexibility in - my legs, mainly - then I found simple stretches to achieve my goals. I decided to keep the routine short - it started out under 5 minutes, now it's between 5 and 10 minutes. That way I couldn't make the excuse that it took too much time, and I always get my basic stretches in. I find that once I'm stretching, though, I'll repeat stretches and add additional stretches. I didn't consciously decide when to stretch, but I found it always falling at night as part of my going to bed routine. It fits in well there, and now I can't think about going to bed without doing my stretches first. Lessons & tips: Make it short and simple! Having a long routine gives you way too many excuses not to do it. You can add more stretches once the habit is already in place. sweet vv is getting there!
How I did it: It's not easy to remind myself to do it everyday, but i know it makes me feel better, and in a good mood so that's a good reason to make it a daily routine. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I found something that made stretching almost enjoyable. Its a device called IdealStretch that allowed me to stretch while lying down with superb leverage that made it almost effortless and gave me much better control. It made such a difference that I started buying them for everyone I know. It just made stretching easier and every time I sat down to watch TV, I would lie down for 10 minutes and stretch with it. The last two days I have stretched twice each day. Funny that it hard to find the time to do 15-20 minutes of stretching.
Alright, beginning tomorrow I am going stretch every morning. My first goal will be to make it a week without forgetting.

I had my first class today. AMAZING! The poses were not difficult, but what impressed me was the intense relaxation I felt at the end. I’ll definitely try to do a little every day.

Amongst the many things I dreamed last night, was instructing a small group of people in stretching techniques. My flexibility was significantly greater in the dream than in reality, but the memory of it is somehow so motivating! Extra long session today!

Working an eleven hour shift yesterday left me with no energy whatsoever to stretch. Today hopefully will not be a repeat.

because since full time work and school began, I’ve completely stopped stretching. My routine is all out of wack. (Over the summer, I stretched 30-60 minutes every day, going from extremely stiff to semi-limber. I don’t want to lose that progress!)
So for now I will aim for 10 minutes each morning, and work up from there as my schedule allows.
catherine92 Just found out it was daylight savings.
The problem is that I like to run before I stretch and become occupied with something else after.
ive been stretching at least almost every day, and will continue to do so. it feels quite good for my muscles to be looser. also, i have to take a PE for the college im attending, so i think next semester ill most likely take pilates.

is that these stretches only take a few minutes, so getting myself to do them isn’t a big issue. I think over time, I’ll really benefit from them.
