It’s definitely worth doing – when you finish it you don’t have to deal with Raskolnikov anymore. Dostoyevsky is a great author, but, sorry, I really can’t stand Rodion Romanovitch.

but I will say I like the way the reader is kept in suspense and the way things are wrapped up in the epilogue. It’s a good story with universal themes. I think I’m ready for something much lighter now!

but I am about 2/3 of the way through it. The first 100 or so pages were good but the middle really drags for me. It is starting to pick up again though.
Hmmm, I found it again the other day when I cleaned out the bookeshelf. Next step is to force myself to put it in my bag and read it on the train. Maybe I should save it for the trip home, I’m already sleepy enough in the mornings.
I’ve been attempting this book for months now. Months. It will never end. I’ve read about three other books in the meantime. And there’s always a Sudoku puzzle that’s lurking nearby, waiting to be finished … or a movie to watch …
I haven’t read a single page since my first entry. On holidays now, so I guess I should make myself read a page a day. I can nap when it sends me to sleep.
I started reading Crime and Punishment about 18 months ago, and it is so boring. I feel like he is just having the same conversation with himself over and over again. But my boyfriend gave it to me, and it is one of his favorite books, so I’m determined to finish it. Eventually.
