A promotion 3 years ago

Four weeks ago, I received my first promotion! I have been with the company for three months now and it is working out great!

today was my first day... 3 years ago

I started a new job today. no more bartending. the pay cut was huge (yikes). the hours are great 9-5. It’s not necessarily in my desired field (PR) but it has great opportunities. I am the new office manager at an interior design firm. Some of my responsibilites are geared at Marketing and PR. Sure I’ve made an adjustment but it is a step in the right direction.

okay, i'm giving up... 3 years ago

I’m sick of tirelessly looking for a PR job—in NYC. It’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen such stiff competition in my life. I thought this would be much easier. I’m going to continue bartending and work on the goal of getting into Graduate School.

I'm on the verge of giving up... 3 years ago

I still can’t find a job. What the hell is wrong with me. I hate BARTENDING. I went to college. I want to work in PR. hmm…I’m so frustrated.

an interview.... 4 years ago

I had an interview yesterday at a law firm. They need a receptionist…and I need to get out of the restaurant industry. You have to start somewhere, right?

27 and still... 4 years ago

I’m 27 and still a waitress. This sucks. I have a college degree and am clueless as to how to pick up a profession. I’m moving to NYC, hopefully…I’ll find a job that I’m passionate about.

Yes, I did it 4 years ago

I’ve have been in my new position for three weeks now. It’s great and very demanding. I like to have a job that keeps me occupied with thinking and planning the whole day. It has been a good day when I look at the clock and get amazed that is’s already time to go home. My co-workers are nice and helpful. Unfortunately, it is a temporary job and I have to find a new in 8 months time.

Almost there... 4 years ago

I’ve got a promising and well-payed job for the next 8 months starting from July. I’ll judge if my goal has been reached when I’ve been there for some time.

Customer Service Planner 4 years ago

it’s great landing a job you like. I wasn’t too sure at first, since I’ve never done anything similar before.

it’s been 1 week into the work, and am loving every moment of it. none of the “omg-is-it-time-to-knock-off-yet” stuff, which really makes my working life so much more enjoyable now. :)

yups, as the title says, I’m a Customer Service Planner. and these are my job responsibilities.

1. Establish and execute customer oriented systems that exceed their expectations in areas of order processing and commercial transactions. This includes order/delivery confirmation and monthly reports etc.

2. Assist Sales Team in defining setup for new customer orders.

3. Ensure speedy resolution of customer complaints and ensure actions are taken to prevent recurrence.

4. Work with Finance to ensure timely payment collection and resolution of overdue payments as well as stock reconciliation.

5. Support IT in implementation of JDE systems.

6. Assist in site supply chain processes for sales order fulfillment including inventory management, scheduling and logistics.

7. Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of site policies and procedures and material control systems in accordance with Global Customer Service and Global Supply Chain goals.

8. Ensure that materials in the supply chain are available as scheduled and inventory is maintained at minimum acceptable levels.

9. Coordinate external services and procurement efforts.

10. Liase with customers in auditing and managing SMI customer inventory levels.

11. Liase with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.

12. Optimize supply chain activities to improve business performance in cycle time, cost, efficiency, customer satisfaction, inventory/cash flow.

it’s a contract position, so what I’m aiming for next is a possible conversion to permanent employment if there are vacancies at the end of the contract. :)
