Reviewing the calendar and writing out cards once or twice a month has been a good system for me :)

Well, here it is the beginning of November and I haven’t sent a single birthday card year. It’s just not that important to me after all, and not important to the people I care about whether they get cards from me or not.

I’ll consider this done very soon, I think. I’ve sent a plethora of birthday cards and e-cards since I put this on here, organized my birthday calendar and have been consistent getting cards out. Besides, how many more card photographs could I possibly take?
I’ve also learned to pay close attention when recording dates and names. I sent the wrong Trish a birthday card last week and the wrong Catoldo an e-card before that. Duh. Well, it’s a lesson learned :)

February 4th is my brother’s birthday. This is probably the most important, or more meaningful birthday card I’ll send this year, as I’ve not spoken to my brother in a couple years, and not seen him in several.
I feel really good about sending this card today :)

I decided to add e-cards for the people with whom I have less personal relationships. I sent a couple last week and another today.

Timmy and Titus shared a birthday. Although one turned 31 and the other 2, they both got stickers on the cards I sent last week :)
I also sent two e-cards to work acquaintances.
This is fun! :D
Worth doing!
And, if this isn’t reason enough to do it… I don’t know what is :)

Kaela,
Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers, and that card. That card caused me to well up. It really touched my heart, more then you know. I’m so happy I lived to see my 50th birthday, and I’m even happier that I go to see all the people I love so very much. You know I’m always here for you.
I love you,
Momma S…....xxxooo
This is why I want to sent birthday cards: because it is so much more than the birthday acknowledgment. It’s about letting those around us know that we love them, and depend on them being a part of our lives.
Happy birthday, S.! :)

I love sending cards on birthdays and anniversaries and any life altering events to family and friends. I used to buy them from Hallmark (it helps to become a member) before but in recent years I have bought cards from organizations like CRY, UNICEF and Children’s Art Project which helps me help others, specially children.

Chances are, if you know me, you will be getting a birthday card this year.
Chances also are, that it will be a Fresh Ink card :)

I bought 15 cards. 12 for upcoming birthdays, and three extras for the ones that always seem to pop up :) This should hold me through May.
I did get all my contacts updated via Plaxo, but realized that birthdays are not entered into my Outlook calendar. Bummer. I will have to go through each one and copy and paste the birthdays.
When I bought the cards, I also signed up for Hallmark’s buyer club, which will save me some cash over the year. Sweet!
