There_is_hope Get back to work!!
How I did it: Always kept in mind every time I went by a favorite fast food place the following: Am I really hungry? Do I really want to spend this money HERE? Will I feel bad afterwards? Think carefully before buying and eating junk. Read how I did it…
How I did it: i made a list of recipes i wanted to try in the next few weeks and then schedule one each week. the easiest day for me to cook up a storm turned out to be sunday, so i made sure to cook something new every week. sometimes i would pick recipes by ingredient. that makes the prep work easier and makes me focus on using up all of the ingredient that i bought that week. How I did it: Started actually making trips to the grocery store. Every week or sometimes more then once a week. Now my cupboards are stocked full. Also the idea of food spoiling that I paid for myself. Got me to cookin. Read how I did it…

I used to work as a cook at a gourmet restaurant and it was a lot of fun. The heat, the pressure, and the feeling of satisfaction when people enjoy a meal you prepared. I really want to do more of this at home. I want to show my wife the things I can do and give her a beautifully cooked meal I know she deserves.
The Problem…
Finding the time. I usually don’t get home until 8p or 9p. It’s just to hard to start prepping a meal that late. That means we won’t eat until after 10p, which is not very healthy.
The Solution…
Prep your food on Sunday. Go to the grocery store and buy the ingredients needed. Chop up your carrots, julienne your onions, have your meat ready. The meat will be placed in the freezer. I suggest taking it out before you head to work, giving it all day to thaw. Since you have everything prepped for the week you’ll be ready to cook. The cook time is the least you’ll spend. Now we can eat a great dinner together with a glass of wine before 10p.
Sounds easy and I hope I keep to it.
I’ve found a super easy recipe for homemade pizza! Between that and a few pasta varieties, and a simple Caesar salad, I’m good for most days.
Pizza base: mix together flour with a little oil and some water, knead into a dough, adding more flour so that it’s not sticky… Roll out and pre-cook in the oven for a few minutes. Then add your favourite pizza sauce and toppings, and pop back in the oven!

I think I’ve completed this goal to my satisfaction. I’ll be closing this and moving on to “cook with dehydrated food”, now that I’m busy dehydrating.
This is a must as i find if you cook more often then the food is healtheyer than a fast food takeaway
...so that’s a start. I’d like to do one recipe from it a week. Right now I’m going to the store to get ingredients for shrimp jambalaya.
Monday-Wednesday are pretty long days for me, so I usually just come home, snack on something and fall over. Today, I came home and started prepping dinner. I made up something out of kale, garlic, red potatoes and chilean sea bass. Best of all, I only used 1 pan! I hate cleaning up afterward. I don’t know if I can keep it up, but it wasn’t too time intensive, and the meal was yummy!
