get a cat

As soon as I move to a place that allows them, I’m definitely adopting a cat. I just love animals and become so depressed when I’m away from them for too long. As a nursing student, I don’t think I’ll be able to devote the time and one-on-one attention that a dog or young kitten needs,but I think that an adult cat might be a good start. They tend to be more self-reliant I’ve found. Thoughts? Experience anyone?

there are some obstacles:
– I live in the middle of a city. I don’t think it would be safe to let a cat out here.
– I’m working full time with a lot of leisure activity. So I’m not at home a lot, and I live alone.
Would it help to have 2 cats so they won’t be so alone when I’m not there?
- I’m not sure how to get my home cat-safe without spending a lot of money (e.g. cat net for my balcony, make my windows cat-safe…)

- My flat isn't that big (60 sqare metres).

Experiences, anyone?
Should I wait until I have a garden at hand, someone to live with or until I can work from home most of my time?

My cat is fricken cool.

He does nothing.

I like it that way.

He just purrs, and sleeps, and chills. I got him a while ago but i forgot to mark this. If I put a tshirt on him he purrs forever.

i like cats so should everybody else thats another thing bcause if u get a cat or a dog that can keep ypu up all night

This is probably contingent upon getting a house. If I do and I end up commuting, I should get two cats so they can play.

Are there any types of hypoallergenic cats?

I was going to adopt a young feline named Sweety Pie… She was in need of good, big home as she was cat with an illnes… but my landlord at the time changd his mind. :( I was very upset for a few months as I have set my heart on Pie…

I have decided to get a cat with FIV one day anyway… to give it a good loving home… especially that I need a soft and warm companion ;)

I’m going to pick her up tomorrow. She’s about 6 months, grey and she gets to take all er stuff with her.
