Got skiing brochures… mainly coz they’re winter vacations. I’m thinking that Brighton would be far enough though, somewhere local?!!!

    IOW shortly.

I sat in the toilets at uni today with the lights off. It’s the darkest place I can remember being in. I stayed there a while because I was really, really alone. I couldn’t even see my own hands. Somewhere like that, remote and far away from city lights would be amazing right now though! Somewhere I can go to sleep at night and really sleep.

This year… I will do this… and I will get myself a passport so that I can go farther afield.

I'm back for the sunday/monday work shift. 2 years ago

I really want to be back there right now because it was a beautiful place and I had a super-fantastic time! Even managed to win this pub quiz that my little sister insisted we enter. We won some champers, for a non drinking family a rather fitting prize :).

Took fencing lessons, but got some pain in my leg due to the footing position and stance. It was mildly entertaining.

Went and saw a panto with my little sister and brother * boo hiss *!!!! Love it! You are never too old to hate the bad guy, proof that the ideology at least, of good conquering evil still exists.

Created some new dance moves to a hanson song to entertain the children.

Ate at a Burger King for the first time in well, ages! It’s no nicer than I remember back then either.

Took some nice walks, where everywhere there were seagulls the size of albatrosses that liked to eat whatever we had to hand.

Swam about in the pool a whole lot and got my head pushed under the “fountain of destiny”. Haha!

Even caught some television with the sex-tastic Phillip Scofield about some “past regression” which really caught my imagination and I wound up writing poetry at 2am on 2 separate occasions.

Oh, played golf, went bowling, played the slot machines in this arcade near the front and lost :), I even booked in for some body boarding lessons/ life guard lessons but I opted to take my little siblings and watch instead because the classes were full of teeny boppers and the odd scrawny man and I think watching them have fun was better than doing it myself.

The family also went rollerblading but I opted out because I wasn’t willing to put my hip out and I if I’m honest couldn’t be bothered. Sooo I cleaned and prepared tea for when they got back.

Looking back it was a good bonding experience. I really hope it carries on next week and in the future. :) hmmm

    Tonight I'm offskies :) 2 years ago

Well… I have as many clothes as my suitcase can hold, anyone would think I was going miles and miles from home. I was in such a strange mood that I even went and got my hair cut and styled this afternoon. Sooo easy to do and I think I’ve put it off for long enough. I guess I was just motivated and in a rather good mood after my driving lesson- which went far better than I could ever have expected.

I then went out and bought 2 pairs of jeans, a few nice tops, a dress and nearly a few pairs of shoes but I resisted… I have enough pairs of stillettos, flip flops, open toe sandals and what not to last me a really long while.

I sooo can’t wait to get away. Cut down on internet and what not for a bit and just enjoy the rain/sunshine depending on the weather and of course the time with my family. :) wooness! I’m pretty cheeryful right now :)

Where the hell did communicating with me go? 2 years ago

In a week and a bit I’m going away with my family. My parents have changed the dates without telling me as I apparently should have known that that’s the weeks we usually go, but it’s been 2 years since I’ve actually been anywhere with them sooo yes of course I should know! :S…sooo now I can only go for one week. she says it’s “no big deal”... but I’m not best pleased. I’ve now got the week before where no one will be about and with nothing to do… WHAT IS THE POINT?!!!
It’s too late to cancel it so it’ll just be a week of sitting on my arse! :@ grrr.

Maybe I can cut down on shifts and just work one day and the weekend that week. I’ll have to speak to my boss. She’s bound to be displeased.

I got the brochures for Scotland. 2 years ago

Some woman recommended a creative writing weekend rolls eyes HOW IRONIC.

Anyways plenty to look through when I get a spare moment.

Overloaded me bags on the way home from work with books and stuff. Should be fun fun fun! :)

    Cancun, Baby! 2 years ago

I blew off my entire family and took off for sunny Cancun, MX one Thanksgiving several years ago. The only hassle was when people would be EXTRA friendly toward me in an attempt to alleviate their own awkwardness in the face of a solo traveller.

Otherwise, its GREAT! You don’t need to coordinate schedules with anyone, you can eat, sleep, drink, stay anywhere you want, anytime you want.

I’m saying goodbye to New York and doing a lot of things solo, and I have to say, if given the choice between doing them alone, or not doing them at all, I say go for it!

    NATIONAL GALLERY... 2 years ago

It’s not a holiday but this goal is more about getting out of the house now :) and just going places for some variation.

Going on a trek to London to the National Gallery tomorrow :).

5:30 start is unnatural now seen as I’ve gotten used to not rolling out of bed til at least the end of Lorraine Kellys LK today or whatever they call it now. (how sad is it that I’m relating time in my life through units of television… hmmm while I side step this issue…)

I haven’t been to the gallery in ageeessss!!! Yayyy!!!!
