So I’m going to be syncing that up today. Hopefully it won’t be radically different from the last version…

My director got back to me with “wow! cool!” and no notes or changes. They’re going to be redoing the voiceover next week, but everything is sliding nicely into place!
I did my final tweaks today, so barring massive client issues, I’m done! I have one last render going [it’ll finish in another hour] and then I’m going to send off the new version of the first piece to them. I still haven’t heard back from them on the second piece, but they liked the first one.
Maybe everything worked out on this one… I got it all done… There were no fights… Nothing broke or drove me crazy… I got to take a few weekend days off in the middle… I even have gig-nibbles and a hold lined up for next week… Weird.
I have one to-do left on my list for this morning, and then I’m going to be done. But of course, I’m not done—all the other changes will come from my clients, and I’ll have to match it up to the new voice over, whenever that happens…
I know that I have more to do, I’ve just run out of map.
I finished off the second animation today and sent it off to my director and producer for notes around noon. This afternoon I worked on the changes I wanted to make. I have two big-ish re-dos, but I got through all of the little things I wanted to fancify. I couldn’t sleep well last night, so I’ve promised myself that I’ll go to bed early tonight and actually wake up with my alarm… maybe…
I still haven’t heard from them about this voice-over re-write that they want to do, so I’ll need to call on Wednesday to see what’s going on with them.
I’m excited about the bit I just finished. This is going to really look good…
I just started a “final” render on my machine, so barring crazy [knock on wood], everything should be smooth sailing from here and I’ll be able to send off a version of this piece to my clients either tonight or tomorrow morning. Whee!
Tomorrow’s plan is to fix up some of the things that I hate about the other, like the junky animation on the first scene I animated, back before I knew I would have a whole month to do this project… I’ve made a list, and now I’m going to relax and watch The Oscars…
I lost a little time mid-week, but I’m pretty close to sending off a version of the second section to my client—should be sometime this weekend. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know it’s not an oncoming train. That’s a great feeling.
Yesterday was reasonably productive, although my sister flew into town, so I cut my day short when she showed up. Unfortunately, we both got food poisoning from dinner, which has kind of sucked the life out of my day. I did manage to make it to a meeting in the early afternoon, but I walked home in the pretty weather and it’s thrown me for a loop. I wanted to get one simple scene out today, but I’m running a fever and need my naps. Oh well. At least I’m relatively ahead of schedule—I have two scenes left on my second piece, so I will finish it this week and have the next one for cleanups, etc.
Today wasn’t super productive. I kinda sorta got one short shot in and, uh, took out the recycling… I just couldn’t concentrate today.
I did start worrying about the next set of scenes I’m working on. I’m going to have to mull these over this weekend, but even the little bit I did get done today convinced me that everything I have left is pretty much dependent on what I do with this one big chunk of stuff I have left.
Today I finally got some notes from the producer on the project. They’re still promising me a few script changes, but that’s all out of my hands.
Good news! I’m up to 1001 frames in my piece, which means that I’m only about 30 seconds from the end… Those 30 seconds have a bunch of little moving pieces to finish off, but I feel good about my progress so far, especially since it’s only the 15th of the month and I took last weekend off. I’m in good shape so far, knock on wood. Of course, now I’m starting to worry about where my next meal comes from, but that’s a different issue…
