get out of Dallas

Finally getting out of Dallas after 12 years. We’re heading up to Pennsylvania to live away from the retardation of Dallas-style life. Cheers and good luck to everybody else trying to get out.

After 25 years of life in Texas I got the hell out! It was the best move I have ever made. I’ve been out for four years now. I’ll never go back.

• July 8th: moving company comes to pack up valuables
• July 10th: moving company loads up truck and heads north
• July 11th: we close on the sale of our house
• July 11th or 12th: we head north ourselves

dallas sux! bye-bye, big hair!

I went up to Pittsburgh for the first part of this week with one goal in mind: find us a place to live. We’re planning on living in an apartment for the first year while we decide on where best to buy a house.

I look at many apartments downtown, but eventually, I think we’re going to get a loft across the river. I put down a security deposit to hold the place while the application is processed. I really don’t see any issues coming up with our application, so this will be our new home come this summer.

At last. We moved out of Dallas. Hello San Francisco.

We officially left yesterday. We have yet to arrive in San Francisco, we are currently in travel mode. Joshua is driving the U-haul with his brother and Judah and I are staying at my dad’s until our flight tomorrow.

This has been a goal long coming.

I go back to visit occasionally (parents and such), but there will be 12 ft. snow drifts in Arlington before I go back there to live.

A couple of weekends ago, I broke the news to my parents that we’re planning on moving to Pittsburgh this summer. It was tough telling them, but now that they know, planning is starting full-force.

It’s going to be a crazy six months!
