I was just looking to see if I could compare companies by which one could give me the most of the channels I want for the least price, but then I thought of looking for a place where you get to pick the ones you want only. I ended up finding a lot of people liking it and nobody getting it. Of coarse it would save us so much money that it would make the companies a lot less off of us. I would like it if I could get my own settelite in orbit and just catch them all and bounce them down and it could be like the old days when anybody with a dish got them all. Then I would undercut those POS companies and maybe then they’d wise up. Of coarse they have the networks agreeing with them, cause They have Boardwalk and Parkplace with Hotels. It’s only a dream for now.

Just got a free TV today and found myself flooded with about 70 channels from Comcast, most of which are pure crap (informercials-only) or in languages I don’t understand.
Since I think the world would be a better place if everyone spoke freakin’ English, I have a perverse pleasure every time I delete a non-English channel from my TV! <grin>
Check the list of channels I’ve erased.

itunes lets you download episodes and seasons of certain shows for a nominal fee. this is nice, considering we got rid of our tv. other places are starting to pick up on the trend. this is bound to happen in the near future as companies will be more willing to cater to their clients’ desires. starting the revolution!!
Just heard about this on a clip of NBC, I re-searched it a little bit online and am still trying to find out a lot of details, but on paper, I think this would be a GREAT thing. I am a technology and gadget addict, I’d love to watch TechTV and some of the other channels, but really don’t want to deal with a lot of the same crap that comes with it. I’d love to save money on DVD rentals and be able to get HBO or Skin-a-max and a few other movie channels, would be lots of fun!
do I want to pick them, but I want to pay per channel. Lets say a $1 a month per channel.
AWSOME my cable bill just went down 90%!!

see, this is the problem—you pay for cable, but you end up with all these channels that you don’t want. why bother paying for all of those? you should get to pick out just what channels that you want, and only have to pay for those on a prorated basis.
this makes so much sense. why don’t companies do this? then people like me who can’t afford cable will start ordering channels and they stand to make more money. sure, some people will downsize, but who are we kidding? this is america. we don’t know what the term means.
