I’ve been majorly busy in the “I’m only at my house to sleep” way… And that’s no joke. About 1 or 2 nights a week I’ll be at mine lately :S

BUT
I do have some free time coming up, and my room hasn’t had it’s finishing touches yet (though all the decorating etc. is done, the single bed is still in there covered in junk which drives me mad!) So yeah… I’ll set to that pike in the next couple of days methinks… Of course it’ll be longer til I can put it up on the wall.

The new Weatherspoons in Hertford actually inspired me to get this pike cleaned up and mounted on my wall / somehow as a feature in my room. I’ll get onto it once my room is inhabitable again (not long now!!!)

I didn’t get a chance to work on the pike :(
Today however, I have a day off so may well take a rag+WD40 to it… Not that it’ll do much methinks, but tis still worth a try.

As mentioned in previous posts, I found Daddy’s old English Civil War pike head in the old shed. Both he and Mum were members of the sealed knot re-enactment society, hence me growing up around lots of weapons, armour and mead LOL!

Anyway, I’ve set myself the task of restoring it to as close to its former glory as possible, bearing in mind it has a fair amount of rust on it. I’m gonna set to it with a rag and some WD40 to take the surface rust off first, as I want to leave as much of the patterning on it in tact as possible and see how bad the rust below is :S If it needs more treatment I’m afraid I will have to consider taking wire wool to it though :S

Anyway, I’m gonna start on it today after HOPEFULLY getting my camera to work, to take some pics. Wish me luck!
