Was out for dinner in SA and spotted snails on the menu and had them. Really good, much better than the frogs legs, in a really nice garlic sauce.

It’s very common in China to buy smoked frog legs, even whole frogs selling in the store, they are really tasty! Even on the street, you can see vendor has a bag of live frogs jumping, they will kill it for you right there. I don’t know I should mark it “worth it” or not, since I am aware of protecting animals! But really in china, you pretty much can eat anything you can think of…horse meat? dog meat? snake? ...
Well, was out for dinner on saturday and had frogs legs as a starter. They also had snails as a starter but could really only go for one, so I’m half way there.
As for the legs, they were ok but as one can guess, they’re not exactly filling and were pretty bland. Would place them closer to chicken than fish but not really memorable. Will pass next time.
They sound unusual but taste good. I really like both of them when prepared correctly. Frog’s legs are a cross between chicken and fish. Snails are like a fine beef.
Yum.

I’ve had snails many times before (Koreans eat them). Frog legs though, I had last week at a restaurant in Monroe, LA. Not bad. They were deep fried and looked like a chicken drumstick that was extra long. Here’s my review… Frog legs have a consistency somewhere between chicken and fish. It certainly does not taste like chicken. The taste was very light, almost like fish, but distinctly not fish.

...I agree, taste like chicken, no big deal. Escargots, however, are deeeeellish!
