My relationship with tofu for the first two decades was not stellar. I would eat it, but blah, you know? Then my brother-out-law prepared it marinated in a soy based marinade and sauteed in peanut oil. Wow, it was the start of my turn around. Plus all tofu is not equal. I now buy fresh bulk tofu from my local Co-op rather than the wrapped in plastic variety.
One of my favorite recipes is red beans and rice with tofu cubes. I marinate the tofu in soysauce with a couple drops of liquid hickory smoke, sautee the tofu, and let it cook in the red beans an rice as you would sausage. Yum.

Tofu likes me. I have tamed and mastered tofu!
Made the “noodley awesomilicious thingy” (quoting AnBeBan, thank you dear) (still dunno if noddley refers to me or to the actual noodles that were in the receipe) and I’m going to try to marinate tofu in barbecue sauce like Alisacosta suggested.
Yum! yum!

I’d like to try a nice marinade receipe I have found in a little book of mine.
Will do pretty soon, I think.

I have tofu scramble at least once a week, plus variations of Breast of Tofu (recipe in this thread http://www.43things.com/entries/view/55876) one or more times a week.

I bread the tofu with bread crumbs mixed with beaten egg. Then I fry the suckers up (cut into width wide strips by the way). Then I make this caper, lemon juice, garlic and soy sauce (and maybe a little oil or whatever) and drizzle away. Wicked good!

A lovely couchsurfer from Taiwan taught me how to cook Mabo Tofu. It is simply great! Thank you Lena! :)

Put some in a miso soup, fried some with noodles and both were, um, terrible. I’d like to try to cook agedashi tofu as it is really excellent at the restaurant and seems not that difficult to cook.
