Create my own '31 Songs'

I should do this because i really like singing.And now that i have a chance i will do this and i will not give up i may be young but ican do this and i will try every day and every after noon and every night.you have my word i will not give up for my life i would keep on i am not a quitter i am not lazy and i am not afraid to do this at all not one little or tiny bit i will keep on doing this until it is over i will not quit for my friend or family and this is my dream and i am not going to waste it not one little bit i will keep on doing this just like i said.it may be alot of people that quit by i am not one of them i will keep on going until it is finished. everybody has my word forever. I’ve left it a while to pick my last song, but eventually decided on this.
I found Bright Eyes here on 43things, when somebody mentioned a song of theirs and I downloaded it for a listen. I liked it, but didn’t give it much thought after. Then back in November ‘07, completely by chance, I came accross their album in a charity shop, so bought it then and there on impulse.

That one CD dragged me through sad times, staying up late talking to friends just trying to find answers, good times when a particular day was just happy, for no reason at all and managed to carry me battling through writing my first novel with NaNoWriMo.

Their songs are so beautiful, his voice is very emotive, but I particularly love this one. It’s not about love, it’s not about loss, it’s just about saying “I don’t know what I’m doing really” and it’s comforting to know everybody has that sometimes.

Find it and listen to it, I havn’t got the words for an explanation that would do it justice.

If Only

This is a bt of a depressing one and never fails to make me feel pretty damn awful. But at the same time, his voice is so beautiful and his words are so poignant you can’t help but love it, for all it’s pain. Me and the friend that introduced me to it listen to it and cry…It’s just simple acoustic guitar and his singig but that’s what makes it so haunting, in all it’s simplicity. This man is a legend anyway.

I remembered how much I love this song when I heard it in a club the other night, and was just in awe/jumping around and singing. I’s just such an anthem, it reminds me of year 11 and finally I love being able to shout

Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook

The northern accents make me smile as well :) Happy times.

Yes I know its probably the most overplayed song in history but I still love it. It kept me going through a difficult 4 months in France when I was missing most people like hell but someone in particular sprang to mind whenever I heard this. And it’s just so darn pretty!

I don’t know why I like this song so much. I first properly discovered it at the end of my first term at uni, and now it reminds me of sitting in my room, just about to go to bed, thinking through the day, who I met, who I talked to, what I did.

The lyrics are meant to be applied to a single person, I think. For me, it’s all the people at uni.
