How I did it: After having put this off for...close to 5 years, I finally made it a personal goal with the threat of having to clean the whole apartment...That did it! I instantly went to the optician, found some glasses I like (actually the frames were 50% off, yey!), and had my eyes examined. A few days later, and I could pick up my brand new glasses! Haha, I have just made this goal a personal challenge (with the threat of having to clean the whole apartment if I didn’t do it by the end of February) and already made more progress than expected. I popped by an optician today, found a pair of cute glasses, booked an eye check-up for tomorrow…Yeah, I am so not going to clean our apartment!
I just hope I’ll be happy with the glasses I picked out – but I think I will always feel a little weird and self conscious about wearing glasses. 4 months ago

How I did it: I finally went to the eye dr after finally getting health insurance again and putting off the eye exam for a long time (I hate going to the eye dr). I spent at least a half hour trying on glasses to find a good frame (I guess it's a good choice-most people didn't even notice that I got new glasses!). They're a little nerdier and bolder, and I'm having a time trying to adjust to them (especially when I'm tired) and they cost more than I expected, owing to changes with my insurance, go figure, but oh, to see the world with such utter clarity and no headaches!! I went to the eye dr, and ugh! I really dislike someone staring into my eyes with their hand barely touching my face and breathing intently and I have to stare at a fixed point and ugh! So awkward. But – my right eye hasn’t changed, though the astigmatism has gotten worse in my left eye, but apparently this isn’t abnormal. Explains why my sense of space on my left side gets thrown off so badly when I don’t wear my glasses. I took a good half hour to choose new frames, and I’m still not sure about them, but they’re somewhat similar to my current frames, they suit my “narrow face,” and they should last for a good 4 years, but we’ll see. At least I’m finally almost done with this goal! 10 months ago
