1 oz Vodka
1 oz Campari (maybe a little less)
Splash grapefruit juice
It’s very tasty. The key problem is marketing. For a while, I had a remote connection to a Sex in the City writer and thought I could get it mentioned on the show but it didn’t pan out. I also tried ordering it at swanky bars, then looking aghast when the bartender didn’t know how to make it.
I heard of a cocktail PR stunt from the 50s: well-dressed man or woman sits down at the bar and says “I’ll have a _. You know what Frank Sinatra says.” People ask what, and he or she just smiles knowingly and sips the drink. Apparently it worked in the 50s for I forget what liquor.
