remove the word [retarded] from my vocabulary

My bosses at the camp I’m a counselor at have made a rule that we can’t say “retarded” so I’m going to have to meet this goal!!!

Well, I didn’t say “retarded” at all, but then everyone at school said it, so it kinda slipped into my vocabulary. But now our school has a major ban on it, and I can totally see how offensive it can be. I’m going to try replacing it with “ridiculous” (excellent substitute) and see how it goes!

im going to come up with a word that i can use as a backup word… like one i can say instead of retarded… i did this already for shit.. i just say sugar cookies, which although is really….DUMB… its funny for people i dont know who laugh at the fact a 16 year old is using sugar cookies as an interjection.

this is the word i have choosen to say whenever i feel like saying retarded. it fits perfectly, and ridiculous is a fun word to say anyway. “that’s ridiculous!”

I have realized that i say this word all to often. It is a negative word that has the potential to ofend someone, also it is pretty much just a cop out on my part because i can’t think of a better word to say instead of it. So, I am no longer going to say this word, and that’s that.
