I got my tax return and it’s enough to afford a couple days off work AND a moving truck. :) Now I just have to plan so that I have people to help me. That is what kept me from doing this NINE months ago. Wow. I didn’t expect to be without my furniture for this long. A true lesson in detachment from material things. However, I know that from an organizational perspective I will benefit from having my bed back (which is on a frame so I won’t be sleeping on the floor), my bookshelves (for getting other things off the floor), and my drawing table (finally…a real workspace!). Can’t wait to check this off the list!

I stored my stuff in Ohio before moving to Chicago because I was moving to student housing. Now I have an apartment with roommates and no furniture. For three months I’ve been sleeping on an air mattress and borrowing a desk from my roommate. The rest of my stuff is mostly in stacked boxes and milk crates on my bedroom floor. I want my bed, my drawing table, my bookcase and I want to sell off the living room and dining room furniture I don’t need anymore to make extra money I so desperately need. All I need is the time and the money to rent the truck. This needs to happen soon for my peace of mind and really to save money.
A storage space made sense when we were moving frequently between apartments. Now that we have a house, I want storage cleaned out, and the regular monthly expense for it gone.
