I took a few guitar lessons during uni, and actually learnt a few songs, then exams started and the guitar string broke – and I haven’t touched the guitar since. That was over 8 years ago! Need to start it up again.
How to learn the guitar
How I did it: I kind of taught my self. Just writing songs and trying different things each time. Singing and playing with others has increased my confidence 10 fold. Not that I do it enough. I'll have to make that another goal.

A friend gave me a guitar to learn on almost a year ago. I’ve taken it out of the case once.

Okay, so I learned the piano.. how hard can it really be.
I bought my guitar a couple of years ago.
I have a go now and then but can’t seem to keep up dedicated practice.
Maybe I need a teacher.
I can play very badly dead simple stuff like Jingle Bells, Yankee Doodle Dandy and London Bridge but can’t seem to progress from there.
So that’s a goal for the coming year.

so i bought a guitar last weekend and have already started learning silent night (a nice easy one to begin with).
I’ve always wanted to learn a musical instrument. I’m guessing guitar is a good option to learn. I’m planning to get some basic chords down first like Em, C, G, D and then go from there. Apparently if I master these chords, I can play “With or Without You” by U2 (though may not be able to sing it) I’m hoping by christmas, I’ll have this down.
