I’m going 2 try 2 this :-)
Though there is no solid proof this helps one lose fat, in my opinion there is solid proof (oxymoron, lol) that it causes one to gain fat. In a study on how different foods affect human sleep, a few different people over a period of 6 or 8 weeks ( forget, lol sorry) ate different foods immediatley before sleep. By the end of the few weeks, each of them had gained about 6 lbs. Lols so I would guess eating at night contradicts a diet if there is workout involved and causes a sort of plateau :-).

so last night, i got home from work at around 6:15. I cleaned up, showered, took care of some things, and by the time I was finished it was well past 7pm. I have vowed not to eat ANY food past 7:00, and I completed my goal yesterday :)
I would say throughout the day up until 7, I consumed about 1300 calories (give or take). I went to bed really hungry and it felt so good to wake up and feel cleansed and refreshed!! This morning for breakfast, I had 130-calorie oatmeal and now I’m drinking my coffee. So far, so good.
I 100% recommend not eating late at night. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again:
WHILE THERE’S NO PROOF THAT EATING LATE AT NIGHT CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN, ONE THING IS DEFINITELY TRUE: WAKING UP IN THE MORNING AND FEELING CLEANSED AND THIN AND REFRESHED IS THE BEST MOTIVATION TO EAT HEALTHILY THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE DAY.

I have a feeling I’m the only one who will be writing here for a while…
I couldn’t start last night. My co-worker and friend got layed off and we went out for drinks after work. It stinks too because I was really motivated to start yesterday, I wasn’t craving drinking or eating but I gave in under the circumstances.
Anyway, still so motivated and doing it tonight. Excited to see how it’s going to play out over the week.
My sister and brother-in-law are coming here this weekend and I want them to think I look healthy and refreshed! Good motivation.

I went on a crazy diet two summers ago. I ate 600 calories every day and lost a lot of weight, but very unhealthily.
Long story short, I gained it back. And right now, I have about 10 lbs to lose. My boyfriend’s mom told me that she stopped eating after 7PM at night and has lost about 9 pounds in a month by doing so.
Being on such a crazy diet that summer taught me a lot about dieting, mainly because I spent 80% of my time researching calorie-counting. While there is no evidence that eating late-night causes weight gain, one thing is DEFINITELY true: going to bed hungry and waking up feeling cleansed and refreshed and thinner is the best motivation there is to eat healthily throughout the entire day.
No food after 7 :) I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.

I don’t think this one is worth it, as I’m constantly eating something, and lately I’ve been not very strong and my mom thinks I’m eating badly, even though I eat so much. I may remove this from my list and replace it with eat healthier, as I’ve not been doing that so much lately. I shall leave this here for now…

...this isn’t working here. I do plan to continue but I’m saying goodbye to this goal on 43 Things for now.

Does a small hot chocolate count? Audrey and I are going to Borders tonight with a friend, and I have a coupon for a free hot beverage…

If I can do this, it should help me a lot. I think there are days I eat an entire days worth of calories long after dinner is over.
6. Check! (and headed to bed in a few minutes with a growly tummy…a good thing I suppose…grumble, grumble)
7. Check! (this is not an easy goal for me!)
8. Check! (the hot chocolate felt like a cheat even though I know it wasn’t. It was yummy:)
9. Check! (we had an early dinner, and I stayed up late so it was really hard!)
10. Check! (and I resisted a treat at the movie theater!)
11. Check! (had dessert, but it was directly after dinner)
12. Holding steady, but I’m hungry! – Nope, I had a rough night with Audrey and gave in:( I still feel like I’m off to a good start…6/7 days is pretty good!
13. CHECK!!
14. Ugh. It’s confirmed. I am emotional eater. Bad night=Food.
15. Check!
16. Check!
17. :( Weekends are hard.
18. D’oh
19. Yes!
20. No problem…I was sick:(
21. Didn’t really have dinner so check!
22. No, but trying to get back on solids so eating when I could
23. Yes!
24. No, but it was planned for
25. No, but again, it was planned for from the beginning of the day

28. Nope, it was time to eat that Dilly Bar.
29. Yes

15 out of 26…a little over 50%. I’m going to mark this off as completed, but it’s something I’ll continue to work on as I try to lose weight.
