Before this was more a pipe dream for me something that may may not happen, but im going to make it a reality. I have recently rekindled my love for Italy and im committed to making this dream happen. I’ve decided to start learning italian to help me along the way. Yay i cant wait for this to actually happen!
It has been great and definitely good for my Italian. Italy is such a beautiful place and I remembered this when I saw yesterday a new program on BBC2, Federico’s Italy. Wonderful!

Italy is an amazing country, but i recommend you to go from the middle of Italy to the South, people is warm and more genuine; I lived in Siena one year and i consider Italy as my second house (i´m spanish).
Go there and enjoy people and life!

In 2001, after studying Italian for a year in the states, Anne, Sophia and I decided to try taking our love of Italy to the next level. We found a language school in Bologna and expatriated for 3 months.
It was a great experience, but to be honest, it was also really tough. We had lived overseas before, but with a 15 month old, and maybe just some of the challenges of Bologna – this trip was a challenge at times. We got more homesick on this adventure than ever before, and we had a hard time with the housing options we found. I also don’t think we realized how young Sophie was – now when we look back, we can’t believe we did that when she was so little. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to remember much of the experience at all.
I want back on to the horse though. When the kids are older we will try again. I’d like them to spend a year or two overseas when they are growing up.
