Well about 4 months ago I lost about 15 pounds, and lately I’ve been seeing that that weight is slowly starting to come back. I just am looking for a way that I can loose about 20 more pounds and keep it off. I want to loose this weight before the summertime becuase I want to look good this summer in my shorts and tanks.

2 steps forward... 23 months ago

Gained 20 pounds… yep… I’ve been naughty. Not bad considering that I lost all together about 60 (well 40). Now Im about 40 lbs away from my “ideal weight”. It’s time to finish this goal.

I did it (kinda) 2 years ago

I’ve lost around 55 – 60 lbs since January and I feel pretty good.
I’m down to 200, and a 37 waist. I’d like to go down to a 34 waist and down to 170, but it isn’t really a priority for me at the moment. I know that if I continue to do what I’ve been doing (regular exercise and eating fairly good, I’ll get where I want to get eventually.)

Good luck to those who are struggling with similar goals.

Now... 2 years ago

I have hit a plateau. I have continued to work out the same way (thirty on the bike and calistethics every day, and 5 days of weight training). I am no longer using the Atkins diet but am using Cyclical Ketogenic Diet, so I’m hoping that this will do well. I’ve actually lost five pounds since my last entry, and I guess I should be happy about that. It isn’t what I had hoped for though, so it is a bit discouraging. I do feel significantly better physically, my energy has increased, and I’ve noticed that I have been able to manage my moods more effectively (largely do to the fact that I am not consuming sugar or caffeine, I suspect).

I have always had a sweet tooth. So I have substituted regular sweets with sugar free sweets. I think that It may be effecting my efforts.

Well I am continuing the goal. It might take me longer than I have expected, but who cares? So long as I reach it.

Not using Trano, but ... 2 years ago

I’ve been exercising on a daily basis (stationary bike 30 min every day, calisthenics daily and moderate weight lifting 5 days a week). In addition to this, I’ve cut out 98 percent of all sugar from my diet (nixed the soda, sugary sweets) and simple carbohydrates. I’ve lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks and living this way has become effortless. In five-six months I should be at my idea weight (aiming for 165, 34 inch waist). At this rate I should making it there sooner than that, but I’ve given up the time schedule. With regards to this goal I have found it easier to focus on daily success instead of looking too forward and speculating about the future.

For all those that are attempting this goal. Know that even an inch of progress every day is a victory.

Don’t spend any time beating yourself up for falling (figuratively). The past doesn’t matter anymore and the future isn’t promised to anyone, only this moment in time matters. Just live in this moment.

Any one can do it, you just have to decide that you’re just sick and tired of your current state of health. You just have to decide it do it.

Good luck to all

I am going to do this too. It will be good for me just to be healthy. I want to lose weight and live a healthy life forever(until I die). In the process I will keep the weight off!

Progress Report: (Sept. 2006) 3 years ago

A year ago, I wrote that I lost ten pounds… Well I gained them back ( :o( )... But now I’ve lost 25 pounds (:o> ).... Right now I am 240, 40 inch waist, My goal is to get to one 180 with a 34 inch waist, Working out 5 days a week and intend to start running once I lose another 15 pounds (Eating right, weight lifting, need to lose more weight in order to keep my knee joints safe). Good luck to all those who are working on similar goals.

how to accomplish this 3 years ago

I have a plan. I am going to give up the stuff that is really bad for me, and then I will reintroduce it into my diet once I start seeing results. I am going to give up the following:
1. Caffenine
2. Sugar
3. Carbs
4. Red meat
I will also need to get into working out. I am going to go 10 min. on treadmill, 10 min. on bike and 10 min. on elliptical machine for the first week. Then every week after that I will up the minutes by 2, so that I can work my way up to doing 20 minutes on all three, giving me a whole hour of cardio. I will also alternate days that I will do some light weight training. It won’t be fun, it won’t be pretty, but, by God, it better give me results.
I should start small. Let’s narrow this goal down to 10 lbs for the month of January.
Wish me luck.

Quit Quitting - 3 years ago

I am so sick of quitting after 2 weeks – I have a lot of weight to lose. Somewhere in my head I truly believe that I have only gained 10 lbs. since my jock days of YEARS past. That’s false. I have ober 100 lbs to lose and just because I “used to” be a jock, dancer, etc. etc. WHO CARES!!! I must sound so pathetic when I say that to people. I’m almost 33. I WANT to be in great physical conditon again. I just have to let go of the past and quit thinking that I’m trying to get “back” there. I need to create a here and now. I also need to realize that it will be a long process. Usually as soon as I drop a size I get this whole thin mentality – whatever – then I stop and viola! Still fat and out of shape.
