Today is day ten without soda. All I’ve had to drink in the last ten days is water, some sweet tea, one Strawberry Limeade from Sonic, and some fruit drinks, like strawbery lemonade and Hi-C. I’m really surprised at how easy it’s been. I had a real problem every other time I’ve tried to stop, and I keep thinking about Coke and how I’d love some, but it’s been really easy to keep on track. :D I’m proud of myself.

How I did it: I spent a whole summer downing literally a liter or two of soda a day. It got to a point where I would throw tantrums until someone in the house would go buy more for me. Dr. Pepper was my favorite.I started noticing how moody I would become 2-3 hours after one of my soda binges. Not to mention my skin was breaking out like crazy. It killed my self-esteem. Breaking my caffeine addiction started off as a dare between me and my br… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I plain stopped. The caffeine wasn't an issue since I was not quitting coffee [and never intend to]. I did miss the massive amounts of sugar though... which I do not add to my coffee either. This really wasn't tough to do though - I replaced my soda habit with WAY more water - and loose tea. I like a variety in tea and have latched onto a new addiction: teavana. com - right now Samurai Chai Mate is my drink - great… Read how I did it…
How I did it: In the beginning of 2009, I decided to start eating healthier (plus the beach vacation in May had something to do with it!). I always wanted to start drinking pop but had no reason to really do so. I only drink pop about once a month now, sometimes when i'm out to eat, but only have milk at breakfast and water the rest of the day! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I began by limiting myself to 1 or 2 cans of soda each day. Then I just stretched this farther and farther, adding more restrictions whenever I could take them. No soda at restaurants. One case per month. Make a case last 5 weeks, 6 weeks. One soda per week. Homemade soda made without corn products as an occasional treat. Fruit juice concentrate mixed with seltzer water. Melissa so much better...
I’ve taken myself off my anxiety meds and I’ve stopped smoking. This is the third goal I want to tackle. I want to be a healthier person and have more energy. I already feel so much better by accomplishing my first two goals.
I’ve been drinking soda since I was born. I swear I think my mom was putting it in my bottles. I can’t think of a time when I didn’t drink it. I’m more addicted to soda than anything else so this will be very hard for me. I don’t want to just cut it down because limitation is not in my vocabulary when it comes to soda. If I drink just one, then I will have another and another. So I will be going in cold turkey on this one. Its very hard when every restaurant you go too only offers soda. I hate the pressure to drink it. There is so much sugar and carbonation in it. I can’t imagine why people would want to put it into their bodies. I don’t know why I want to drink it.
The caffeine cravings don’t bother me. Its the lack of the fizz that gets to me. There is something about the fizzy, bubbly taste when you first take a swig of Dr. Pepper that keeps me going back for more.
I’ve started over and this time I mean it! :D I’m on day 3 and doing okay. It’s hard though. =/
Today is day five of my “No Soda Challenge” and I think it’s going quite well! I made it through the morning with no caffeine, but it helped that my vacation started today. I did panic when I went out to dinner, but ended up ordering unsweetened iced tea, which worked out once I added some Splenda. My goal was to be soda-free by Oct 31, and I am definitely doing it!
I am on day 3 of no soda, and it was tough today – I don’t think it’s the caffeine or the sugar, cause I made it till this afternoon, but I could just taste how good some Diet Pepsi would be! So I had some water instead…not as satisfying, but at least I’m well-hydrated!

Not a success :( I had to work a very stressful 12 hours shift and I had a massive caffeine withdraw headache so I caved. Boo. On to tomorrow.

Wow! Carbonated water really helps. I read it from the entries here and figured I would try it. I was going to break and have a Coke w/ dinner but I got a flavored carbonated water instead and the craving completely went away. Day 1: success.
I am seriously addicted to soda. Specifically, a large Mountain Dew before 10 o’clock every morning! Since I have not yet attained my goal of ‘become a morning person’, I require a good bit of caffeine to get the day started at work. So I am trying to make myself like coffee, since a morning soda just seems wrong! So I’ve decided that step one is going to be ‘no soda before 12pm or after 6pm.’ We’ll see how this goes!

I relized how bad they are for you. I really got into tea. I make fresh tea everyday. I relized how bloated I feel when I drink soda. I just stop having a taste for it. I never crave them anymore. I got sick a while back and a freind brought me a sprite for my upset stomach. I drank it and it made me feel so bloated. I also like to buy the minute maid juice in a can. That makes it easy like soda. You can grab it and go. It is not that hard. Besides even if you have one as a treat now and then it is better than all the time.
