Take a road trip across America

so im from New Zealand and me and a couple of girls are planning our road trip across america from lA to NY for next year. so who easy is it to do? what do i need to organise. im just planning on buying my plane tickets over and back and thats it, hit the road, but im sure its not going to be that easy. any help would be great. mel

... that I am interested/obsessed when it comes to the States. I just think this would be one of the ultimate things to do.

I’d love to do this with a likeminded person/group of people, rent/buy an awesome classic American car, maybe a convertible? Take a decent camera, and use it to document the whole thing – the great landscapes, the quirky little gas stations, the cacti, the diners, the cities, the suburban sprawl…

There is so much to see, too much probably, but I’d like to give it a good go.

I’d probably go East coast to West coast, but maybe not really plan the route – just go whichever way looks interesting, maybe take advice from locals or fellow travellers about what to go see or do.

So all I need is a huge chunk of time, a whole load of money, some fellow passengers, and a VISA… I’ll get right on that sigh...

America is an amazing country. I took a road trip from Camp Lejeune, NC, to Los Angeles, CA. Took me five wonderful weeks, through 25 states. I’d love to do it again, and I’m glad I had that opportunity.

This really is a dream of mine – to go over to the states and travel coast to coast. May never happen though on account i can’t drive ! (failed test 3 times no less !). So am real envious of those who’ve experienced this

I have always wanted to see everything, I can’t just sit still, or look at photos, I need to see everything for myself, go places like the world’s largest ball of yarn, grand canyon, everything!
