A bit closer up! 6 years ago

naughtyminx78After...

Here is the finished map! Unfortunately it is not the best picture in the world (of the world!) – it was really hard to photograph because of the reflection, but without the glass it wouldn’t stay flat.

I have really enjoyed doing this and the best part has been the interest and excitement that Little Jimmers has shown in cutting and sticking all the people, animals and landmarks. I’m not sure if the photograph is clear enough to see but have added our family just to the side on England! I am looking forward to teaching him all the different countries and hopefully his geography will be a little better than my own! 6 years ago

This is the collage I made for the nursery when I was pregnant with Jimmers. 6 years ago

naughtyminx78Nearly there!

I have been arranging and sticking all the pictures onto the map with Little Jimmers this afternoon. Just going to add a few more and a picture of all of us too and then it will be finished!

Hope to post a photo later on! 6 years ago

naughtyminx78A few more countries...

Tonight I added pictures to:

Greenland
Tanzania
China
Japan
Ethiopia
Australia
Italy
Scotland
Zambia
Norway
America
Alaska
Vietnam

and a few others that I can’t remeber right now (I am vvv tired). I’m nearly done now and hoping to get it all finished and on the wall by Saturday (my deadline). 6 years ago

naughtyminx78Joint effort

Little Jimmers helped me with his world map poster this evening. We have added pictures for Zambia, Antartica, Norway, Britain, France and Madagasca. He got a bit bored then and started trying to sit on Russia so I’ll go back to it once he’s gone to bed! 6 years ago

naughtyminx78Made some headway...

Poster is now spread out on the kitchen table and I have found clippings or stickers for the following countries:

Cambodia
Thailand
Sri Lanka
Ghanda
Panama

I have a looonnnnggg way to go yet but I’m on a roll now! 6 years ago

So are you going to put stickers on it as he learns about the countries? 6 years ago

naughtyminx78One step closer

Actually managed to tidy all the paperwork out of way so I could get into the cupboard where the map was. The world map is now out on the kitchen side and a pile of magazines and other bits and bobs and ready for cutting and sticking.

Hubby is on nights this weekend that might be a good opportunity to get on with it! 6 years ago

naughtyminx78A minor setback...

K was busying away downstairs making a homemade musical instrument for her homework and I was pleased she was getting on with it. Then she came upstairs to show me her creation – two fantasic pink maraccas (sp?) – decorated with animal stickers. Grrrrr. The animal stickers I bought for Little Jimmers world map poster!

I was rather annoyed that K used them without asking. Oh well, there are a few left and I have lots of other stuff but it put me off getting started a bit. Before I can get all the art stuff out and I need to finish sorting out my paperwork though so I’d best get on with it! 6 years ago

I want to do this for my son but with my own variations. What a great idea and what an awesome keepsake!!! DON’T Give up minxy! 6 years ago

naughtyminx78Must get on with it!

Whilst I was pregnant I created a collage out of baby pictures from magazines for Little Jimmers’ nursery. I read that babies love pictures of faces so I filled an poster sized frame with babies faces sleeping, playing, feeding and smiling. I have enjoyed it being on the wall but Jimmers has outgrown all the babies on it now.

I have a world map that I used to have on the wall at my old house and I’ve decided I am going to add pictures to it representing people, animals and places around the world so he can start to learn about different countries and where things come from. I’ve collected some animal stickers and some travel magazines to cut up – I just need to get on and do it now! 6 years ago
