Get a pet snake

i might look like a girly girl, but i LOVE snakes. the only reason i dont have one is because my dad is terrified of them, but i plan on getting one as soon as i move out =)

He is a Honduran Milk Snake, and I could not be happier.

I got a baby Corn Snake the beginning of this year. He’s a really awesome pet. I’d recommend a Corn Snake for anyone considering being a first-time snake owner. After you get the tank set up with an under tank heater and dimmer(to control heat), care is really pretty easy. You pretty much just have to clean out the tank, change the water, and feed them. Mine’s currently eating 2 fuzzy mice every 6 days. He’s still a little bit nervous at times, but he’s not aggressive and has never tried to bite me.

Congratulations to all you new snake owners! My sweetie is an avid herper (savannah monitor, leopard gecko, 2 corn snakes) and encouraged me to get my first snake. I got my darling baby corn snake in January & love her to death… unfortunately she escaped from her cage in late April & is still MIA. I’ve been trying to lure her back with a heating pad and food but without success. I miss her sooo much, just pray the kitties don’t get her! So if you do get a serpent remember they are serious escape artists… her cage is on top of a 5’ tall bookcase and the top was on (but not latched). She’s less than a foot long & only big around as my pinkie finger, but managed to move the lid and negotiate the drop from the bookcase. So good luck to all you new & aspiring serpent keepers, and send some “come home” thoughts to my little Oro-chan!

i love snakes :). they are so interesting, i can’t see why people are scared of them, only 10% are poisonous. my mum wont let me have one in the house she said she’ll let it free… i wonder how she’ll feel about the snake tank i ordered..

this might actually be the first goal i have set on this site and have then accomplished… oh the joy… i am just silly… no sleep, at the end of the work day counting down the seconds before i am free to leave!!! oh and then… then i go to my grandmama’s and pick the poor orphaned darling.

sighs. grantite, it is a ball python and i personally consider them a bit boring. they don’t move much, all they really do that is neat is sit in a corner balled up, freaking out. that’s reason why they’re called ball pythons is that it is a defense mechanism. becoming bigger than any would be predator can get their jaws around. so just so you know, when they are curling up, it isn’t cute, they’re fucking scared out of their minds. people!!! back up and let the little fella breathe.

but oh! my very own little snake. ah… sighs… so happy. that’s if the time will go by any faster so i can get the hell out of here!!! well anyway i guess that’s a start. i like making lists, and day dreaming of actually accomplishing those goals but as far as excution goes… forget about it. winces. yeah its that bad on this side of the glowing screen, but don’t be alarmed. *slaps hands together in antisipation… hopefully by the end of the night i shall have a snake in my apt. my very first snake… in my very first apt… life just can’t get any better than that. well it can, but i think i’ve already exhausted my reserves for complaining this week.

i’m not going to actually explain my actions of my dream. anyone who just saw what i wrote. i apologize here now. ooh. terrible…

i want a snake. my very own. little creature that i harbor in my own sanctum and give a weekly devotion to. that is a morbid routine i want, and if for whatever reason people have a problem with cold blooded things… well i won’t be the least offended if you walk away from my doorstep and fall off the face of the planet. i have no time for closed minded people. that isn’t merely cold blood, that is dead.

not to be ranting. i won’t rant on here, for the excuse i am very disturbed by sudden implications i am taking off something completely else. that is not the point we are here.

i want a snake becuz such creatures i have more in common with than the typical day’s yielding. yet too i worry at having any sort of creature intrusted into my hands and under any prolonged influence of my existing will. i think i am better off sticking with plants at the momewnt. but maybe around the new year i could possibly be persuaded to implement such ambitions.
