This is exactly the kind of thing I want to get off my 43things list. There’s no way to finish it. If I made a list of everything I wanted to get done, and hired a crew of 100 ppl to do it – by the time we finished I am positive I’d discover other things that needed done.
People doing this are also doing these things:

It took lots and lots of work, and meant that I only rarely went out (except to Wickes, where they now know me very well), but I finally finished it! From a run-down old house to a smashing place: rewired, new boiler, new bathroom, new kitchen, new fireplace, every room decorated, a garden you can sit and relax in. Thanks to T for all his help. :)
The kitchen paint and reHardware project took a major step today – the hinges came in the mail, and I mounted the first of the cupboard doors. It’s still lame, and a ton to do, but I spent a solid 2 hours working on my house… and that’s always time well spent… that and I got to use power tools.

I did it :D
But… i’m actually not completely happy with the way it turned out…
I put two large mirrors up in my tiny tiny bathroom and the effect i hoped it would have is there: my tiny tiny bathroom does look bigger.
It’s just that now that those two mirrors are firmly stuck to the wall (with wonder-tape-that-sticks-so-good-you-can’t-remove-it), that i’m thinking: why didn’t i put them up a little bit higher, with two other mirrors underneath? Because then we would have a complete mirror-wall, which would be so great…
Er… this must be the perfectionist in me speaking. I’m going to try to shut her big big mouth …
Or… well … maybe … I will remove them and put them up higher with two more. In a few days …
Now that the corridor is painted, we also could (finally!) put up the hat-rack. No more coats and bags roaming around the house looking for a place to rest…
After three years of thinking ‘i really should paint my corridor’ (the paint and the brushes were already bought) i finally finally did it.
I’ve painted my corridor pinkish-white and it looks lovely.
My back and shouders are aching, but i’m very very proud of my self.
Yes I made a start!
Added one photoframe to the wall and put nails in the kitchen wall to hang that thing were you put your dishes in after you’ve done them (don’t know the english word).
Well, haven’t quite finished the dining room by the end of Feb. But March is here and I shall have the walls painted by the end of this week. Door and radiator to do after that.
My aim is to finish one room per month. At the moment this means getting up early to do 1 hour’s diy before going off to work, then doing a couple of hours diy in the evening. Tiring, but worth it. Aim is to finish the dining room by the end of Feb.
You know what? This is so overwhelming in here. Let’s just say finish the second floor and move up there. Okay? And the storm windows. That’s it for this year. That is plenty.
