learn to speak five languages.

I’ve had this ‘list of long-term goals’ for eons now, and this one has been on there as long as anything on that list. Every time I look at the list, this one strikes me as hopelessly ambitious; however, a few of the other things on the list were somewhat ambititous as well, and have conspired nonetheless.

I studied Spanish in high school, German in college, and took private French lessons for a little while. I think I’d like to eventually add Attic Greek and Latin to the list. I don’t expect to acheive fluency in Greek or Latin, but it would be nice to be able to read the classics in the original, and I would like to achieve as least a conversational level in the other three.

Ok, I’m one of those people who has the bright idea of let’s say… learning French, I then buy a book, learn Bonjour, Merci and Au Revoir and then get bored and distracted and give up. I want to be able to speak French, Spanish, German, Greek and Japanese by the time I am 25. I have 4 years! Any help would by much appreciated.
