How I did it: This one is so funny to me because I met him a million years ago when I was probably the age of all you new folks who want to meet him -- 13.  I met him in the San Francisco airport.  This was after Dookie came out, circa 1994.  At first I just stood behind him singing "2000 Light Years Away" quietly so he would know I knew who he was without being obnoxious, and also that I knew his earlier work.  Then, before I picked up my mom from her flight, and before he and his wife picked up their person from their flight (my mom and their person were on the same flight), I just said "hi" and introduced myself.  I never have believed in autographs because that's uncool, but he was totally nice and the flight arriving saved us both from any super awkwardness.

Lessons & tips: Move to the Bay Area.  I've also seen Tre Cool in Sports Authority in Berkeley with his son, although I was way older and too cool by then to introduce myself.  If you are lucky enough to come face to face with the man I once loved and whom you now love, be cool.  Don't act like a turd or bug him, just thank him for his contribution to the musical community and go about your day.  Or hell, who am I to tell you what to do?  Give him a big old wet kiss if you like.  But seriously about moving to the Bay Area.  They are just normal guys here.

    I want to meet Billie Joe Armstrong more than anything in the world. I would like to meet Tre and Mike too, but mostly Billie. I’ve been into Green Day since about… say, the Warning era. I fell in love right then and there with Billie, the rest of the band, and the music. He is my inspiration to write music. He is my role model. His I-don’t-give-a-fuck attitude is amazing. I admire him for that. He lets people know that no body’s perfect, and people need to stop thinking everyone has to be so perfect. And the way he’s so bold in his lyrics, and how he just says it like it is. I love him more than anything. Even though I’ve never met him, it feels like I legitimatly know him. Just from his music. If i don’t meet him soon, I WILL go insane. I need to meet this wonderful and inspirational man.

    I would do anything to meet Billie Joe Armstrong. He is so awsome(and hot)! My mom, my sis and I all love the band green day. And of course, !BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG! If there is a concert near me any time soon….... I AM SO TOTALLY GOING!!!!!! My goal is to either meet him or be in ARM’s REACH away from him. oh my god, that would be so freakin’ awsome

    I would do almost anything to meet Billie Joe, he is me hero, he is the coolest person you could ever meet, he isnt all stuck up or arrogant like other rockstars that are jerks. Billie Joe rocks, all the songs he writes are genuis and i could relate to his lyrics. Green Day are really nice to their fans amd they care about them, Thats what makes them one of the the coolest bands ever. GREEN DAY ROXXS! =D
