Worth doing!
It’s been about a month. Have we figured out yet when and where we’re going to do it again?

Sorry everyone! I had a very excellent time hanging out and meeting everyone, and I am hugely looking forward to next time. It’s just, after meeting that many new people at once, I got sort of shy. I hid for a little while. I’m trying to get over it.
Normally I get shy when I meet new people because I’m afraid they’ll think I’m a total dork. But I realized that in this case that’s even sillier than usual. I mean, it was a board game party. That’s inherently a totally dorky thing to do. Clearly, I’ve found some peers in dorkdom ;-)
Thank you, thank you, everyone, for the great time. This was so much better than my board game party!! (Which reminds me – Ruthg – now you can go to my “host a board game party” goal and say you’ve done it too!) I really would love to do this again, and next time, I won’t go home early, friend from Minnesotta be darned!

Here’s the progression of my hubby’s story. . . . I still can’t believe how bad my drawing was. michael, tell your wife I said sorry again.

But I’m thinking in honor of the night and all the good people and times, I’m gonna have to make some crazy pants. I’ll add a goal for that shortly. Anyone who wants in on some TEAM ‘create crazy pants’ action, let me know and I’ll send you an invite.
Perhaps all the pants could then debut at the next game night…

This game night thing was a little slice of awesome. It happened so fast after a long day of tearing up my bathroom floor that I almost missed it.
I made sure to act extra obnoxious to make up for the brevity of the evening, but it was a really, really honest good time.
And Matt, you’re a nut.
Next time at my new place, maybe in June? July?

I really, really enjoyed meeting y’all. I had such a blast! And laughed until my belly hurt. Thank you for inviting me to such a wonderful gathering!! :) And thanks especially to Ruth for opening her beautiful home to us. I look forward to more fun times together in the future.

I just have one question: when are we going to do it again?
Worth doing!
Yes! An absolutely fantastic night with everyone. It was great to meet everyone in person and have a wonderful time chatting, playing games, and laughing. Super props to RuthG for hosting. And a double hooray to thexder and wembleyheads for their super fun games of rigamarole and “draw-n-pass” (what IS the name of that game?)
Attached to this post is a scan of one of the illustrated stories from the “draw-n-pass” game thexder taught us.

& I enjoyed every minute! I hosted, which was a great privilege. (And I might add by the by, this turned out to be one of those amazingly productive days for me: I finished up one editing project, almost finished another, AND had time to pitch in on housecleaning to get our space ready for guests. My husband D. was a champion cleaner in the meantime.)
Everyone who was able to make it (michael & his spouse, Smartkookie & her guy, PaK & her man, wembleyheads, Matt Maldre, & thexder, all gorgeous & brilliant, truly) was a star, making everyone else laugh at least once in the course of the evening. The food people brought was yummy, & we had time for only two games but they were both way fun. I almost wet my crazypants laughing. :-)
I hope PaK remembers to post samples of the brilliant illustrated stories we produced together for one of the games!
I’ve been neglecting 43 things for some time now due to Goal Numero Uno (completed as of this past Tuesday!) that I completely forgot about the board game night… I just don’t think I’ll make it even though I love any excuse to wear my crazy pants.
