not really worth it :( you’re plumb out of luck when it’s 97 degrees outside (not including humidity) and the power goes out so you have no air conditioning… you’ll sweat from places you didn’t even know had sweat glands…
How to live somewhere HOT
How I did it: When I first landed in Seattle, it was in the middle of Spring and the day was sunny. I fell in love with the blue lakes and lush green trees - all surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges. But then came the never ending winter. perpetually gray skies and freezing temperatures. It was depressing. Every year the winter seemed to be getting colder and longer than previous year. I was in denial for first two years and kept telling myself that the lovely hikes in summer are worth it.
Well, I moved south last summer and I am so glad I did. I love this place. I miss the mountains and the pines, but I don't mind driving 6-7 hours on a weekend for a camping trip.
Lessons & tips: The climate has a big impact on our lives. If you don't like the rain/snow/cold, get out of there. You cannot change it. But you can move. Trust me, you will be happier.
Change is not easy and there could be sacrifices to make. I quit a nice high paying job. But now I won't trade the sunshine for a million dollars.
