I hate clutter and I’m a clean freak. But this is not why I have decided to do this. I’m ok with a few dishes sitting in the sink for a day or two and I wash them on a regular basis. But my reason behind doing this is to see if my roommate will actually clean her own dishes, and to see how long she will take to wash them. I hope it works.
—EDIT: I had to give up on this goal due to the fact that the dishes were piling up and it was driving me crazy. I’m a clean freak and just had to do the dishes. Oh well, it wasn’t like it was for a good reason anyway.

It reduces the mess. My kitchen is tiny so it’s really a necessity to do the dishes on a regular basis, and it works.
I feel guilty if I leave the dishes for next day.
It’s funny thinking that when we lived in our last apartment, we had a dishwasher.. and I used to leave stuff lying around! When I could’ve just put them in the washer!
My only problem is actually the time that it takes doing the dishes. The water just doesn’t heat up very quickly.. it could be the boiler. I don’t know how it works and if it’s normal that it first takes a while for the water to heat up, then it’s ok for a minutes, then it cools again and heats up again after a few minutes…
I am wasting so much water that I’m ashamed.
I have to now actually boil water in a kettle to be able to do a few dishes!
I thought we are living on the 21st century!!!

Now that my parents are here, I get to wash my dishes right away. and the results? clean sink, clean kitchen, no extra chores to do!

The summer was really hard because I was incredibly busy. Now that it is just the regular semester there is a lot more flexible time. I can let my dishes pile up a little, but not long. I still like washing them right away though. At the very least you should rinse them out.

All dishes are in the state of doneness. I will try to keep up with this.

During those rare, organized portions of my life when I am all caught up on my dishes – I do keep up with them. In the unlikely event that I let the dinner dishes go overnight I will pounce on them first thing in the morning.
But sometimes there are extenuating circumstances taking me away from my dirty dish duties. When this does occur, and gets me behind, it invariably spirals into a sea of unending despair and dirty dishes. I simply know that the infinite stack of dishes will never be done so there is no use in even starting (thus adding to my sense of worthlessness).
Today, I have been picking away at my most recent stack of unending dishes. It isn’t done, but I have had a go at it five times today. I don’t consider today as actually working towards the goal; more like preliminary work.
I’ll be back at it tomorrow.

This is hard when I’m feeling lazy, but it really only takes a few minutes as opposed to 40+

I don’t have a dishwasher, so it takes forever to wash all my dishes if I just let them sit. I think it would easier if I could just wash them after I use them, it will save me so much time!
I started this plan last night after I had a drink I washed my cup, and this morning I washed my cereal bowl after cereal. I hope I can keep it up!
