get 10th in a varsity ski race

Yay! Placed 6th in a 5k skate race… This year will be interesting… more about it later

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! George did it again- he got a clean sweep- first place in the 1.3k freestyle sprint, first in the freestyle 5k, and first in the classic!!!!!!!!!!! Way to represent Geo!!!! Im so excited! this crazy kid is going to the olympics!!! WOW

This has nothing to do with me achieving my goal, but I just feel compelled to spread the word…
A few of my good friends from the ski team are in soldier hollow Utah righ now competeing on the National junior olimpics.... George Cartwright, this really cool guy on our team…............(to build suspense).............GOT FIRST PLACE IN THE J2 BOYS DIVISION TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!!!!!! WE live in a po-dunk town in Wyoming with a population of less than 8000 people, so the fact that he is PLACING FIRST IN THE NATION is incredible… (he won the 1k sprint by a margin of 8.05 seconds, may I add)I think this kid is olympic material!!!!!!!! When I heard the news I just couldnt stop “oooing and awwing”.... Is this not just the coolest story? I am so inspired! And he didnt win because of big dollar skis or years and years at an expensive
ski-in boarding school- he just pushes himself so hard it is almost superhuman…. the amount of effort he puts forth is just so inspiring! (excuse me while i have a moment) AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Im so excited!!!!!!!!!!

My senior year of high school I finished 10th, 9th, and 8th in my last three varsity nordic ski meets. Never quite made it to state, but it was a lot of fun to be finishing near the head of the pack. A lot of work in the off season, but totally worth it to be able to speed along in races once the snow falls!

Wow Today was a great day… I had alot of fun racing and did pretty well… I placed 11th out of a total of 60 other skiiers.. Not quite my goal but VERY close… maybe tommorow during the classic race I will break the top ten…we’ll see!!!!!

On friday and saturday I will be competeing in the Wyoming State Crosscountry Skiing meet…. I hope that all of this seasons work will pay off…. I think that we will kick some butt, although I am very nervous….My goal is to place in the top ten… at the last race finished in 19th, so this might be wishful thinking, but who knows…
