I’m actually determined to get my hair back to classic length. I had it when i was about 9 years old, now I want it again!
I have longer than average hair at the minute, but I really want it longer.

I measured at the beginning of July and my hair grew ANOTHER inch in a month!
Alas, my “growth spurt” has probably ended, as I had no new growth during July.
i measure the LHC way (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=8231)
“Many of us measure our hair. We have different reasons and different frequencies but most of us measure our hair the same way. I believe this is the standard for measuring hair length (in the long hair industry).
We get a tape measure. Comb or brush your hair straight. Put the end of the tape measure where your hair and forehead meet. Measure over the top of your head and down the length.
Some people measure weekly, others monthly, others quarterly, others annually, others never. It just depends on why someone is measuring. Many members keep a long/list of their measurements in a book, spreadsheet or in their journal for reference purposes.
Granted this isn’t actually the length of your hair, but your head plus hair. The reason we measure this way is because we want the measurement to be consistent.
If one decides to measure from the crown of the head, then how do you know you got it at exactly the same place the next time you measure.
You can measure your hair any way you want to, but you need to measure it the same way each time (if you want consistent results).
Some people have moles or tattoos on their back which help them determine general growth. Others wear a certain top and look for the hair to be past certain places on the clothes. Some people never measure.
Decide if you want to measure your hair when it is wet or dry. Hair is at different lengths based on that.
My hair is wavy/curly, so I decided to measure while my hair is wet. The waves and curls are different (therefore differing my measurements) depending on waves from styling, and waves from humidity in the air.
You can also measure your pony tail circumference. Put your hair into a low ponytail. Measure around it. This will help you determine one of your “hair typing” factors (numbers/letters in signatures here at LHC – see the other Article on Hair Typing). This measurement can help you determine if your hair is getting thicker or thinner (health problems or added vitamins – though vitamins might not make a difference in the circumference for years).
I’m sure I’ll think of more info, so when I do I will edit it in.
Hope that helps”
i am at 32 inches now. classic length is 42 inches, so i’ve around 10 inches of growth left to do!
:D
my hair at the moment is at 31 inches long, so i still have a long way to go. can’t remeber the exact legnth my classic legnth would be but i think it’s about 15 inches away.
