I live in Australia but I’m actually English (well… half irish and half scottish!) I’ve been wanting to learn Irish for as long as I can remember and I’m finally getting round to it, any tips from anyone? How are you guys finding it?
I haven’t looked around yet, but anyone have a suggestion for a class/teacher in the NorCal area? Or are there good language CD’s out there? I learned French in high school and Spanish in college, and I pick up languages easily.

i’m going to (hopefully) study this in college. i’m super excited because i’ve always had a fond interest in ireland and this language. i wonder if there is any little things that i could start doing. any websites or anything?
lotte123 is back!
At university in my first year I had to take another subject and stumbled upon this one. I absolutely loved it though have since forgotten most of it apart from ‘Ta ma sasta an phuil me anseo’ which means ‘I am happy to be here’ (and even that is not quite right!)
It’s a beautiful language and learning all about the ancient mythology and legends of Chu Chulain was also well worth it.
Funnily enough though it was a Welsh professor who taught it?!!
