I’ve been eyeing the Nikon D80 at the advice of a friend. I think I’m going to get that body. I’ve been trying to decide on lenses… I want a decent zoom lens and a macro lens to do closeup shops. If I get some time to shop around for lenses, I might order THIS WEEK! My husband is being super supportive, and I’m really grateful for that. This is a major purchase, and he’s been really encouraging me to make it.

Okay, firstly I really had come to hate my current camera. It’s a crappy 4 year old Nikon Coolpix that is now at a point where sometimes I turn it on and it just randomly shuts off for no reason and I have to keep turning it on. I keep saying “I need to get a new camera” but the instigating factor is that I get my kitten next week and I need a better camera to take kitten pictures.
I had been considering one of the cheaper Canon digital SLRs awhile back, but since I spent so much on the cat, I didn’t feel like I could turn around and spend another $800+ on a camera. Also, since I’m not a pro or anything, a bulky camera seemed like it might just be an inconvenience and I wasn’t sure I’d really make the most of the features.
My main issues with my current camera is that it takes bad low-light photos, bad motion shots and doesn’t have image stabilization, so the pictures always have a slight blur and never look crisp enough unless they’re in bright light. I decided to look for something in an advanced compact and the Canon Powershot A710 was very well reviewed and only cost $260!
I ordered it today, so I haven’t gotten to see for myself how good it is, but I know it can’t possibly be worse than what I have now.

considering how rarely I take photos anymore and that the streamlining of my job will eliminate most photo-taking necessity, I feel that this has dropped off my priority list.
I got my current digital about 3 years ago, for $100, and it’s the same size as a normal film camera, just as much of a pain to carry around, and isn’t that amazing with its picture quality. I really want to get a nice small digital, so that i can carry it around a little more easily, and thus take more pictures.
True, it isn’t the best money can buy, but it sure is helluva lot better than my previous camera. I’m finally able to make a decent picture. Cool!

I bought my camera last June.. and its feeling really outdated now.. It takes alright pictures and everything.. but not with the quality I would like and there is just so many features I would like.. But seeing as I just bought it a year ago.. I don’t feel justified in buying a new one yet..
Cashmere24 smells rain!
This is something that should be happening anytime now. I just have to find the right one.
I don’t need any super duper, extravagant thing. It just needs to be better-functioning than my current Olympus D360L. That cam has done wonders for me, but it’s time for a change.
