I found some interesting articles written by Linda Dessau, about becoming an artist. Also Artist’s Way is a inspirational book to work with.
In the list of Linda’s Articles I saw a title
‘Permission to be An Artist — Granted!’ Those words somehow were drawing my attention.
Do I give myself permission to be an artist?
She sums up 10 Signs that shows you’ve given yourself permission to be a creative artist, and after reading them I have to conclude I do not give myself permission.
So my first step in ‘be an artist’ will be: Give myself permission to be an artist! This month I will do some contemplating exercises to achieve this.
Starting with telling the world I am an Artist.
So when asking me the question ‘and what do you do?’,
I will answer ‘I am an artist, singer-songwriter, awesome job’.

Minutaile was galloping for the robotic machine repairing (my job)
To be an artist, coz so far I don’t draw, and one day when I was in hospital (I hurt my head and need to do some scan), I stayed on bed, I was so boring. Then I played with Pen and Paper, I focused on people around me and draw casually. But I suddenly found that I can draw quite well even the nurse said whether I learnt drawing previously.
Then I begin to be able to draw what I see. ( welcome to check my little galleries in Facebook ).
Drawing is a kind of Visual Meditation (Towards Satori),
What is better than to do sth that let your heart/mind flow naturally?
But now I concern about “What is the direction of my drawing?” ” How to get more inspiration / topic?” “Can I make this my career?” “How to progress?”

It is really time to follow my soul purpose, and no longer hold myself back with excuses, negative self believes and fears.
I consider myself an artist when I can make a living out of it.
Of course, I am a artist already, everybody is!
But still, I am an artist without stage, and that is what I should create from this moment on!
Good luck to every creative soul out her! I wish you joy and love on your path….

Have now reduced my working week so I can dedicate more time to being an ‘artist’. I do a set number of hours in the studio each day and really try to stick to this otherwise I would get distracted and end up doing other stuff, like housework – eek!

What?! I only have 2 pictures finished and another started. I’m not going to get anywhere near 43.
I’ll see what I can do.

I’ve got 2, a romance and realistic fiction.
I use the snowflake method to write. (http://www.advancedfictionwriting.com/art/snowflake.php) I’m on step 4 with my romance. I’m not even on step 2 with the realistic fiction. >.<
I’m just not sure how far I can go right now. I’m busy with drawing and socializing.
I’ll write up a good to-do list tonight and update with my new decision.
If I decide to go ahead, I’ll probably join the Romance Writers of Arizona. The buddy program will definitely help.

Currently, I’m trying to draw 43 full colored pics in 43 days.
Unfortunately, at this point, I am 3 pics behind and will be 4 by tomorrow. So by tomorrow, I’ll have 5 pics to draw.
Here’s my plan
3/15- Draw 2 pics, 3 pics left
3/16- Draw 2 pics, 2 pics left
3/17- Draw 2 pics, 1 pic left
3/18- Draw 2 pics, 0 pics left
Also, to finish my current picture, I will need blending pencils. I can probably buy that from Michael’s.
So, I’ll post later on my progress. Wish me luck.

ive set aside time almost everyday to do nothing but be creative and scream colors. ive been making a load of progress and im really proud of myself. the dream is still in a sort of fetal position but i dont worry about it dying inside me anymore. this ones coming out healthy and if i keep on like i have this work will be done before the month is out. and of course, we go back to the drawing board and do it all over again. thanks for the cheers.

I want to reconnect with my artistic side, to return to the child who would spend hours at a time immersed in the pages of a sketchbook – and get paid handsomely for it.
