saminmit is going for a swim :D
Last night I was really tired but I made myself go out for about 25 minutes and walk around my house. It felt great!
Having been inspired by watching Wimbledon on tv, I hired a tennis court and some raquets yesterday and played tennis with my brother. Now my version of playing tennis does not involve any kind of scoring system nor any sense of trying to get the other person out. It’s more the other way around… trying to hit the ball in such a fashion as to actually make it possible for the other person to hit it back. This worked quite well and I had fun. I thought I’d be discouraged and end up chasing the ball around the court after missing every shot. It’s not something I’d want to do with any regularity, but fun for a change and worth remembering because as a student I can hire a court for an hour for next to nothing.
One great thing about being back in the OC is the AMAZING gym there. Plus having a group of fellow students around means there’s always someone to go with.
Weekends I come back to Sydney exercise is not so good, but day to day I’m happy with how this is going for now. No need to report what class I’m doing everyday!
I really must think of a way to help myself do this. I only have one fixed exercise session a week and sometimes I don’t even get to that.
I need a plan. A cunning plan.
I ride to uni every day, but that hardly counts as it only takes about 3 minutes and is mostly flat.
Last 2 days – not so good.
Wed – nada
Thu – walking around town. Nothing major though.
Despite the gloomy weather, a friend and I did a walk from Coogee to Bondi today. So nice to be by the beach. And how deserted was it down there – almost bearable!! I hate how crowded Sydney beaches get on weekends!!
Believe it or not I dragged my ass out for a 35 min jog today!
Although alot of that was walking, cos I kept on getting stitches, so it was more like interval training without the intensity. My sore neck and upset stomach really didn’t help either.
But at least I tried!
30 mins on bike.
Plus a bit of walking around town. Most of which would have been more than offset by the Thai I had for lunch and the Viet for dinner. And of course the chocolate coated strawberry and caramelised fig gelato accompanying those meals. Still, what a lovely mothers day!!!
So I’ve been back in Sydney for a week and barely done anything exercise-wise. I haven’t broken a sweat more than once. Granted I have had a bad cold and am currently battling a sore and cricked up neck, but sitting on my ass isn’t going to get me anywhere good.
So today, a 7km walk (in 2 parts). Not amazing, but it’s something. I could have just got public transport instead.
