It’s true they’ve had some issues, but they are all very dedicated and smart.
I switched to TextDrive a few months ago after hearing endless praise for them. It’s true that they have tons of geek-friendly software installed, they give you a lot of freedom, and their prices are good. Unfortunately, in my experience, that’s where the upside ends. Support has been slow and rude, and downtime has been positively atrocious. In my initial enthusiasm I made the mistake of referring a few clients to them, and I’ve reaped nothing but embarassment. I want to love ‘em, I do, but I can’t honestly recommend them for anything where reliability matters.
Now, if I could just come up with a decent domain name.
Although, that might have to wait…
sub.textdriven.com will have to do for a while.
Well, I still suck, but I’m moving forward with actually doing something with the space.
Hmm. These guys seem cool, and on that basis I signed up. They still seem cool, but I’m coming up against the fact that I am demonstrably not cool, or, rather, lack the skills to install what I need. (Instiki, Wordpress.) Hmm.
All my sites will run on TextDrive from now on. They have the most knowledgeable and attentive crew and a totally great community.
