I believe that I have been experiencing the rising of Kundalini (experiencing the Oneness) for many years now and; therefore, I was very excited to just now read in Donna Farhi’s very informative book, “Bringing Yoga to Life” about Donna experiencing, “an intense, indescribable rush of energy accompanied by a thunderous sound moving through my spine and out the top of my head”.
I would describe my Kundalini experience (experiencing the Oneness of all existence, if that is what it really is) as an intense, exciting, wonderful electrical charge that courses through my entire body!
It usually will happen to me at least once a day; however, I never know when it will happen. I do; however, look forward to each wonderful instance of it occurring. I have noticed that it can happen when I have seen, heard, done, thought or said something that I believe is something that has enhanced life in an ahimsic (Oneness) way.
Having believed that I have discovered the secret to happiness myself, I excitedly read through Brad Lemley’s article, “Shiny Happy People” in the “Discover” magazine, August 2006 edition, and I was glad that I did find a couple of references to that secret (the rising of Kundalini?) where Brad states, “Numerous studies show that the happiest people are those that devote their lives to caring for others rather than on focusing on themselves,”… and, “The more selfish you are, the more unhappy you are,”….
In the Christian Bible, in Luke 6:31, through the Golden Rule, Jesus admonishes us to, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto to you.” In Buddhism, we are told that one combines compassion with wisdom to reach enlightenment. I believe, that if you were to really look at the teachings of all true religions you will find some form of the above two statements recommending that we try to only engage in ahimsic, life enhancing, words and actions. In other words, by our words and actions we are striving to make life more wonderful for all people, other animals and all life on Earth because we realize that they are us and we are them.
Marshall Rosenberg, PhD, the founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication (www.cnvc.org), who has been involved in resolving verbally or physically violent situations himself (and also training many others to do mediation) for over 40 years, between police and the public, couples, intercity gangs, with prisoners, businesses, tribes, government organizations and even countries states on page 17, in his latest book, “Speak Peace in a World of Conflict, “While I am well aware of all the violence, I don’t think that’s our nature. In every place I work, I ask people to think of something they have done, within the last twenty-four hours, that in some way has contributed to making life more wonderful for somebody. After they think a minute I ask, ‘Now, how do you feel when you are aware of how that act contributed to making life more wonderful for somebody?’ And they all have a smile on their face. Its universal; most people enjoy giving to others.
“When we are aware of the power we have to enrich life, how we can serve life, it feels good (I believe that that “feeling good” is Kundalini rising in us!). I often follow up with the question, ‘Can anybody think of anything more fulfilling in life than to use our efforts this way?’ I have asked this question all over our planet and everyone seems to agree. There’s nothing that is better, nothing that feels better, nothing that’s more enjoyable than using our efforts in the service of life by contributing to one another’s well-being.”
I agree. I believe that the secret to having more happiness in your life is engaging in work that you believe is ahimsic. You will live longer! Have more fun! And suffer less debilitating, degenerating illnesses!
I hope that anyone who reads this, and everyone that you love and care about, will have Long, Healthy, Happy, Life experiences! 5 years ago
