How I did it: I drove down to my friends house that lives in new york. Then she took her car cause she wanted to smoke. Then we were off to the Bronx Zoo. We were there from 1pm-5pm till they closed. Feel like you really need the whole day. Next time will get there when they open at 10am. We walked all around and saw all the Zoo animals. I got to go to the zoo for a free training that gave me BFTS hours. We also got to walk around so it was like a free trip to the zoo. I wish I had taken my big camera to get some awesome shots, but alas I did not. We also got to see an endangered species trying to bring it’s population back up! 11 months ago

I finally took some time to go to the zoo with my children. It was a sunny day and we had so much fun.
The zoo is very nice and it won’t be our last visit there.
It was so nice to see that most birds had huge areas to fly and walk about and that we were allowed to go through, too. The same kind of habitat was built for some monkeys and a few other animals like the penguins which were very curious and wanted to escape really badly. ;)11 months ago

How I did it: 1. Started by looking for things to do during Spring Break and realized they hadn't been to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in a while.
2. Looked for discount tickets to save some money and found the best deal by buying from AAA. (Saved $8 per person.)
3. Drove to the park arriving early because the park is so big it really is an all day destination.
4. Check the map and show schedule so you can plan your day better. It is always a good idea to ride the tram early because if the park does get crowded the line will be worse later. Also the animals are more active in the morning before it gets hot. Read how I did it… 13 months ago

Since my sons didn’t even remember their last visit to the San Diego Wild Animal Park aka Safari Park, I decided to add it to to our staycation for Spring Break this year. Since I am a AAA member, I was able to get $8 discounts on our tickets and planned a whole weekend in San Diego besides the park.
It turned out that going on the Monday after Easter was perfect because the park was not crowded and the tram line was never more than 15-20 minutes. (We rode twice) We also fed giraffes, lorikeets and lots of other birds. And we got to spend time with several of the trainers about the various animals and we especially liked the elephants and also watched the Cheetah run at the end of the day. I was personally fascinated by the butterfly jungle and really liked the striped owl butterfly which was in abundance. There were also plenty of native rabbits in every animal enclosure we visited and we thought that was a nice Easter touch.
What a great way to spend a day with my sons! 13 months ago
