Walk my dog by the ocean

The brother-in-law informed me that he and my sister would be taking their two animals to the beach for a walk and some play. I invited myself along, but then my sister wasn’t feeling well and they cancelled.

Now the weather is getting colder.

But we’re still gonna get Lola to the beach soon. She’s gonna love it.

I live on the coast. Probably half an hour from a public beach that allows dogs on leashes. I just plain never enjoyed the beach as a child because I always got sticky from the salt water, always got sunburned badly, and even got stung by jellyfish a few times.

But walking on the beach is fun. The beach is beautiful, and I know my dog would love it. I really do need to just pick a date – program it into my calendar, and then just do it.

Heck – I can even send a message in a bottle on the same day and kill two goals with one trip. . .

She went crazy! My son threw a rock in the ocean and she went racing after it, even diving down to try and find it. She came up with a long slimy sea-weed thing, looking so pleased with herself as she dragged it to shore. She’s pretty small – about 14 pounds and looked like a drowned rat when she came out, but definitely loved it.

Seven weeks from now I will be able to do this. We are moving to the west coast and will be close to the ocean. Can’t wait!
