Well, I was reading Hal Higdon’s website regarding marathon training and on Intermediate Plan 1 there was a mention that to estimate a marathon time from a 10k, and slowing the time down a little bit, a 50 minute 10k should equal a 4:10 marathon.
What? I’m shooting for 4:30, not 4:10 (not that I’d complain). I’ve gone sub 50 for a 10k this year, but I’m not sure if I should revise my goal yet. Crazy!
But I’m also not sure if I’m going to do the novice plan or Intermediate 1. For a fall marathon I’d do the harder plan, but with 2-3 months of training in Jan-March, I might not want to devote the nighttime cold running to that intensity. But maybe I’m just a wuss.
