My cat grabs my ankles as I’m walking around the house, and gently taps my eye to wake me up in the morning

Bought replacement feathers for the fishing pole toy for Vixen. Even though they only came in pink he does not seem to feel emmasculated. If he has any twinges he makes up for them in chasing and biting Zoe and Zabu in the ass. Zoe is still my bedtime buddy, more so since Saturdays annual ritual of putting the electric blanket on the bed. She and Vixen love to suckle it, she climbs under the covers with me. Sinjyn has separated even more from the pack but his given up his couch-top perch to settle into my lap wherever I am. He tolerates my constant combing at his dandruff as he understands my frustrated maternal instincts and quick-time biological clock. Zabu still prefers to sit on Mr. Complicated’s head. Some people just deserve a paw in the ear while they are sleeping!

Feathers on a fishing pole…they love it! Vixen jumps after it until he colapses on the floor pantin gwith his tongue hanging out and then he does it again. Zabu will bat at it if he doesn’t actually have to get up. Zoe & Sinjyn are interested but Vixen keeps hissing them away. Last night Vixen hooked a claw into my eyebrow while playing. Now I have blood on my pillowcase :( They all got manicures this morning though so I should be safe for rough play for a few days.

People often complain that cats are aloof. I think cats just expect more of a payoff than dogs do. They think more along the lines of ‘so you brought me home, what did you do that for?” My cats talk to me in various ways….Sinjyn is extremely vocal, Zabu can construct whole sentences with his tail flicks, Zoe twitches her nose and makes faces,and well, Vixen throws up… thats his way of saying “I’m excited”. I did bring them all home and I feel that I owe them more than just a cold bowl of crunchies, some tap water, and a suitable bathroom. Offer that to any other guest or family member and I bet they’ll make their excuses and leave quickly. They certainly won’t want to sit in your lap. I want to earn my cats love. I talk to them, play with them, groom them, sleep with them. No, my life isn’t empty and so I seek consolating in cats. I am capable of relating to humans. But these 4 cats live with me, I love them for that and I want to make it worth their while. Yes, I got my head stuck in a cat condo once….but not a single one of them laughed at me! Zabu loves me so much he washes my hair for me when I watch tv. Zoe shares her watermelon with me. Sinjyn shares the bathtub with me. And Vixen, well Vixen throws up. My god I love that cat!
