Today I moved my red velvet fainting couch into its spot in my house. It’s been at my favorite antique store for over 4 years, and I finally broke down and bought it. Search your local antique stores and estate sales. This is the coolest piece of furniture I own :)

I want a light blue one, or light purple. I am way to broke to go urban outfitters. I know there are places around here.
My parents had a red velvet fainting couch. I’m sure they still have it somewhere—I should ask. But when I played on it as a kid, I pretended I was actually passing out onto it. It wasn’t until I was grown that I heard the term lounge or divan to mean the same thing. I don’t think either term has the character to describe such a beautiful piece of furniture!
I have 7-foot red velvet couch. The back is tufted, the seat cushions are loose. It is so chic! I’ve loved having it but must part with the cushy velvet luxury—I’m being transferred overseas! Anyone out there want one of these?

Brought it home on Saturday….and I’ve had a hard time getting off of it ever since!

I have an antique blue chaise lounge (fainting couch) on layaway at the furniture consignment downtown. $100 to go!
I have no longer got the space for a chaise lounge (fainting couch). I helped clean out L’s grandmothers basement at the weekend and now have custody of an old wooden trunk which used to hold a croquet set. It is perfect bench hight has storage on the inside, it was free and now lives in the space that I earmarked for the velvety loveliness that could have been. Maybe one day I will live in a bigger house but for now I might investigate making a velvet cushion instead.
I was so close to owning one but the bidding got a bit fierce and went beyond my budget. It obviously wasn’t meant to be this time. I know “the one” is out there and in the mean time I am concentrating on saving more.
I must have this! I’ve been looking for a couch, and I found this one online today—I didn’t even know Urban Outfitters sold furniture. It’s a little over my couch-buying budget, but I MUST HAVE IT. Now, to save $600…
