...I think that’s all of them… This might take awhile!

Bargain shopper / Book obsessed 5 months ago

Most women have an addiction to shopping. I think it’s hard wired in our DNA. Either buying shoes, or purses, maybe clothes or curtains, we all have something that gets us going.

My problem is books. I spend hours at a time going between amazon.com and half.com. That’s actually how I ended up at this site! I will find an interesting book on amazon.com, go to half.com and find it cheaper, then add it to my wish list. I’m wishing for about a hundred books at the moment.

Any book is interesting. I especially love the Twilight series, Anne Rice’s vampire novels and some of Oprah’s suggestions. I also love to learn about religion, philosophy, sociology and psychology. I own many cook books, tips on maintaining a clean house, and three books about cats. I just adopted little Jasper a few weeks ago, and he’s having a hard time adjusting. Lastly, I’ve been reading sort of ‘self-help’ books, mostly based on Buddhism.

I’m really discovering myself through the books I read, but I can’t seem to stop buying them. This week I spent my grocery money on three books, and am reduced to peanut butter sandwiches and cereal until my next paycheck. I wouldn’t feel bad about it if I actually finished (or even opened) the books, but I just can’t seem to do it.

So I’m making a promise to myself. I need to finish every book in my bookcase before I make another purchase. No ifs, ands or buts… unless there’s a great deal on one of those post-secret books, those never drop below 10 dollars…
