How to cross the pacific ocean by water
"amazing, dolphins lit by phosphorescence, whale pods, booby birds, seeing the real colours of stars, tropical storms and endless sunshine"
How I did it: went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the end of March to meet a boat I found on the crewfinder website. Boats leave central America in droves around March/April as they want to catch the trade winds and be into safe harbour on the other side before hurricane season in the central and eastern pacific
Lessons & tips: a boat is a small space and there's no getting away from it - make sure you can tolerate people in your face and be prepared to calm situations and bite your tongue - what the captain says goes like it or not
